Few pre war MG,s suitable for restoration appear on the market and even fewer like this MG PB (only 526 were made) become available.
This is an ideal proposition for someone to take over an abandoned restoration (due to reasons of health) which is virtually complete of all its parts. It is still fitted with its original, when first made MG PB engine, fitted in its original chassis when first manufactured. Invoices which come with the MG indicate that over £25000 has been spent on this restoration of which (listed below) shows JUST SOME OF THE WORK carried out which includes a rebuilt engine being that the crankshaft has been reground and remetalled, block rebored,cylinder head fitted with new camshaft,new inlet and exhaust valves,new rockers,new rocker bushes. Starter motor,diff and steering box have been rebuilt,chassis checked and fitted with new king pins and bushes,new brake cables and trunnion box covers, new original type wiring loom with new 12v battery and recored radiator. A large number of parts have been re chromed,all the instruments related to the dashboard have been fully restored plus numerous other parts have either been totally restored or are new. New “Enrique Llinares” body fitted with excellent front and rear wings, front apron and petrol tank all painted and finished in dark green. There is a documented history file containing invoices for work carried out together with some pictures of its restoration together with an “Instruction Manual for the MG PB” and a “Service Parts List” The MG comes with all of the above together with its old style RF60 log book showing the names of its owners nearly fifty years ago and its current V5C (log book).
